PRAAT is a very flexible tool to do speech analysis. It offers a wide range of standard and non-standard procedures, including spectrographic analysis, articulatory synthesis, and neural networks. Developed by Paul Boersma and David Weenink, it supports various operating systems and is widely used in fields such as phonetics, linguistics, and acoustics for tasks like speech analysis and synthesis.

After we used Praat, we think this application is interesting because it can analyze an audio recording and we can know the vibration and the air pressure of the word through the analyzed data. The data shows the waveform of speech and we can know the pitch and loudness.

Moreover, in order to visualize what the ear hears, we choose what we hear section by section and annotate the IPA words to distinguish the air pressure. The word father shows the air pressure corresponding to four vibrations of the vocal folds. The waveform of speech shows that the louder the sound, the greater its amplitude.
